hi Heather,
you seem to be incorrect. George's wife was 48 in 1871 census. Ann is shown as born in Bagnall in 1901 census with Wainwright husband. Bagnall was part of Bucknall parish, and next to Stanley village (Endon parish). She therefore seems pretty certain to be daughter of John and Elizabeth Wilshaw in Bucknall in 1881 census.
Have a number of odd connections to Wilshaws from 1715 to a female American Nato COMMANDER IN THE SIXTIES (daughter of a female Wilshaw who emigrated in 1912 from Hanley).
bye pete.
