Hi elaine, thanks for taking the time to reply and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you.Unfortunately, I haven't been able to trace my family very far. I now know that Enoch Willshaw was born in Leek, Staffs aprox 1846 and that his father was called George H e moved to Manchester and married Catherine Moffatt and had seven children. I know that his father George was a shoe maker and i'm afraid that's about it.I would imagine that the two families are linked somehow as Willshaw is quite an uncommon name in Manchester and they must have lived quite close to each other.Maybe when we do some more digging we will be able to find a connection.
Best wishes
Fiona
