Dear Laurie: I am related to James Wilsford and the Wilsford. I also think that we are related through several different lines. I am a ggg-grandson of John Hodges LINAM. I know that one of the Linam girls married a Skillern. Further, Mary Wilsford, from the James Wilsford line, married Thomas McLaughlin Scott. I have a great deal of information on the Wilsford's and the Linam's, but precious little on the Scotts. Do you have any Scott information? I know, from the Lawrence Co., Tn. census that Thomas McLaughlin Scott was born in 1807 somewhere in Kentucky. He was also a constable and tax collector.

I am also trying to research one of John Hodges Linam's son, Israel McKindree Linam. Israel is my gg-grandfather. He joined the 54th Tenn. Volunteer Infantry Regt. in 1862 and deserted. Some of our cousins have told me that he subsequently moved to Cairo, Illinois with his wife, Mary "Mollie" Scott (daughter of Tom Scott and Mary Wilsford) and then joined and fought in the Union Army. Do you have any information about this. I have a copy of a photograph of Israel in an army uniform, with his musket, but it's difficult to determine if he is in USA or CSA uniform. Any help you can provide will be most appreciated. B est regards. Doug Brooks
