I am trying to find a source for the birthplace and linage of Benjamin Benedict Wilmoth (b. 1815) who married Mahala Carroll, September 27, 1843 in Larue County (formed that year from Hardin), Kentucky. There seems to be two schools of thought on this. One school says James Wilmoth, son of John, was his father, another says George who was born in Nelson County, Kentucky. Is his birth recorded anywhere and what source was his parentage ascertained.
