Diana,
Just checked back in after absence of some time and saw your post.I THINK that the Ben Willoughby in the Greene Co., TN census died there.I BELIEVE that Elijah Willoughby and siblings that left Greene Co. and DID go to Montgomery Co., KY were dead Ben's children.I am researching Rhoda Willoughby m. Wm. Moreland, who I BELIEVE was Elijah Willoughby's sister.Rhoda named her sons Elijah and Enoch, so it is my guess that they were her brothers.Elijah Willoughby went on to Vigo Co., IN.
As with all families of this time, they tended to name after each other and produced much confusion for researchers trying to keep Sr. and Jr. straight.I have been told that Elijah Sr. died en route to IN.I have been told that some people have copies of his will.I have not been able to find it.So, if you or anyone else has a copy of Elijah Sr.'s will, please share it!Contact me if I can help you you may be able to help me, too.I KNOW my line is Rhoda Willoughby.I do not have absolute proof of her father.I do know that she and husband Wm. Moreland bought property with Elijah, Enoch, Ben, Ann, Willoughby in Mont. Co., KY and are in the 1810, 1820 census there. They purchased a land grant from someone named Hagans ?, from memory, on the banks of the Red River in Montgomery Co.
