I don't know anything about Willoughby's in Lincolnshire, but was grabbing at strings trying to find the Hugh Willoughby m. Agnes Southerland, who settled at Willoughby Spit, VA - a point on the northern coast of Norfolk in 1710. He had a son, named Alexander Willoughby,b. 1760 in VA, m. Elizabeth Welch Rice of VA.. Alexander and Elizabeth had a daughter named Katherine Hughes Willoughby b.in Jessamine Co.,KY, who m. Washington Franklin Shely in 1825.
There is a Willoughby house in Norfolk that is open to the public. I don't remember his first name, but they've got to be related.
The Willoughby's were involved with shipmaking and the sea.
Would appreciate any help on this line. Alexander was a Rev. veteran, but I understand most of his relatives were Tories and may have gone to Canada.
