Hi Beth:
I hope you still have the same email address and will get this.
I have seen a post on GenForum under the OUTLAW surname regarding ANN MARIAH (possibly WILLOUGHBY).
She was known as "Grandma Ann".She was at one time married to JOHN L. OUTLAW who served in the Civil War.(I am taking all this from a post by Sandra Outlaw).
I now am trying to find information on this ANN MARIAH (possibly) WILLOUGHBY.
This lady's situation interests me for a couple of reasons.
1.You mention that for some reason her son was named by what I guess was her maiden name? instead of her husband's (LAMB)name.
2.She comes from NC which is where I too am researching my lady to be possibly from.
Do you know if ANN MARIAH WILLOUGHBY had any Indian connection?
Have you ever seen in your records a child listed by the name of TENNESSEE PORTER OUTLAW?(my ggg grandmother).TPO is supposed to have been 1/2 Cherokee. Her father's name "may" have been John from TN.
And other than that we are having a hard time finding where she came from and who her parents were. Also there is a possibility she was illigitimate.
She was supposed to have been born Nov 17, 1823.
Thanks if you have anything you can share.
