I am researching the Francis Willock family. Specifically I am trying to get the names of Francis Willock's parents.
I am referring to the SGT Major Francis Willock you mention. He served with the British Army in the war of 1812 as a Captain ( appears this might have been a duration rank as he was a SGT MJR when he wasawarded the land) and was released and awarded a parcel of land instead of a pension. Can't put my finger on it right now but believe it was 200 acres. He married Margaret Gray in Perth, Lanark, Ontario, Canada on 24 December 1817. I have some more decendants and such but no ancesters. My brother in law is in possesion of Captain willocks military sword and scabbard. (engraved and monogrammed)
Let me know if I can help you with more info or if you have the upline.
