Dear Neil,

Thank you for your information. I was able to trace Clifton to Roland to Lorenzo Newton to Lorenzo D and then the trail turned to dust. I found the two Israels and their ancestors. Now it appears that Israel Junior was the missing link! Lorenzo D shows up as a head of household in the 1840 Census for Hampden County. He is not listed as a head of household in the 1850 Census in Hampden County MA. Lorenzo Day and Sophia are buried in the Williston family plot in Forestdale Cemetary in Holyoke MA. They do not have headstones. Lorenzo Newton and Lucy Abigail Hatch are buried there along with some of their children. Again, I really appreciate receiving your information, it has helped me to clarify the history of one branch of my family tree. Karen
