SHAW Charles Roy, 83, died Friday, Feb. 8, 1991, at his home in Albuquerque, NM. Survivors include his widow, Sheila Willis Shaw; son, Joseph W. Shaw and wife Gina Shaw, their 2 daughters, Rachel Shaw and Romy Shaw Keegan, her husband, Tim Keegan, and their son, Thomas Michael Keegan, all of Albuquerque; son Steve F. Shaw and wife, Gale Shaw and their 2 daughters, Linda and Karen, all of Colorado Springs, Co.; uncle, Tom Beasley of Okla. City, Ok.; He was raised in Enid, Ok., where he excelled in sports, especially polo and tennis, served as junior and senior class president at Enid High School, and as senior editor of "The Quill", the year it took first place in a statewide yearbook competition. He later attended Phillips University, Enid, the University of Oklahoma, Norman, and the School of Banking, Madison, Wi.
Roy spent most of his active business years in Canton, Ok., where he and his wife owned and operated the Bank of Canton. During those years, Roy was very active in community projects and civic affairs, serving several rotating terms as president of the local Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club, as state treasurer for the Oklahoma Bankers Assn., and as a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America at both the local and council level. In recognition for his tireless service to the Boy Scouts, he was awarded the coveted Silver Beaver award, one of scouting's highest service awards, in 1962. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America. Memorial services were Friday, Feb. 15.
Interment of ashes will be later in the spring at the Enid Cemetery in Enid, Ok. BIOG: NAME:
