I'm searching for any information about the family of Stephen WILLIS, Sr., who was born near Augusta County, Virginia in 1725. He was still in Augusta County in 1751, but moved into North Carolina in 1762. His son, Stephen WILLIS, Jr., moved to ABBEVILLE DISTRICT, South Carolina, where his will was probated in October, 1790. I'm wondering if they might be related to Lewis WILLIS and John Austin WILLIS, brothers who lived in Halifax County, N.C. in 1780. My ancestor, William LOCKE, was married in Halifax around 1775, and had his children there, In 1804, he moved his family into Chester County, S.C., where he lived until his death. I have strong reason to believe that William married a woman from the Stephen WILLIS family in Halifax. William's son was named Stephen, and Stephen's first born son was named WILLIS. I have run into a dead in on William LOCKE'S wife. HELP!
