You may want to try Hamilton and Hawkins Co TN.Larkin Willis settled in that area in the mid 1800's. I believe he descended from a David Willis in NC. I would guess that your William Larkin Willis is a descendant.That name isn't THAT unusual, but its certainly not common.For it to appear in a 'Willis' line makes it a good bet to assume that the person is a descendant of Larkin Willis. Also, his descendants moved northward into SW Va (and elsewhere) where they appear intermixed with descendants of Abner Willis, and particular of his son Isaac, who settled near Gate City.As far as I know the two lines are independant of each other. As a result, Lee Co may also be a good place to hunt William Larkin.
