REVIS R. (Puny) WILLIFORD, 89 of Schulenburg, formerly of Houston, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001. Born on July 25, 1912, in Polk County, Mr. Williford had a long and successful career in the Petroleum Industry until his retirement as President of J. S. Michael Oil Company in 1978. As a long-time resident of Hunters Creek, he served numerous years on the Board of the Village Water Authority. After moving to Schulenburg in 1984, he had many enjoyable years raising cattle on his farm and being an active member in the First United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, and the Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mattie Williford; his wife, Martha Allums Williford; his brother, Edgar Lee (Skeet) Williford; his son-in-law, Bert Meine; his step-son, Billy Pollard; and grandson, Trey Woods. Surviving him are his wife, Mary Tom Williford; his daughter, Bonnie Meine; daughter and son-in-law, Martha Ann and Bill Jorgensen; and son and daughter-in-law, John and Carol Williford; sisters-in-law, Marle Halbert, Myrtle Lou Williford, and JoAde Allums; and brother-in-law, Weldon Allums and his wife Mary. His step-children are Patty Lynn and J. Des Woods Jr., Sonny and Rosie Pollard, and Judy Pollard. Other survivors include his grandchildren Leah Jorgensen, Will Jorgensen, Kaylen Jorgensen, Christianna Cuba, Jonas Woods, Rebecca Brink, Blaire Chapman, Sarah Pollard, Shelley Pollard, and Savannah Pollard as well as five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held in Hooks Cemetery near Kountze on Tues., Oct. 16,. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Schulenburg on Sat., Oct. 20, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Phil Robberson officiating.
