Ellen Williamson and William Adlington

Has anyone come across a marriage for this couple or the birth of their child(ren)?
William Adlington was born about 1806 Rotherham Yorkshire. He joined the 97th regiment of the foot April 1824 in London. He served in England, Ceylon and Ireland until 1842. I have no idea if their marriage happened before, during or after his army service.
All I know is when he arrived in New Zealand in 1847 as part of the Royal New Zealand Fencibles he came with his wife Ellen nee Williamson and 1 child.
William died Dec 1848 in Auckland Colonial Hospital and Ellen gave birth to their son John in January. Elln remarried to John Robinson and they had a son Thomas Robinson in 1851.
The only clue I have about where Ellen may have come from is she appears to have been illiterate and spoken with an accent as after William dies several records have the misspellings of Hadlington or Haddington for her surname/former surname.
I haven't been able to trace the child who came to NZ with William and Ellen.
