I am looking for any connections to the Williamson family of Albany, New York. I have listed all the information I have. Please check it out and contact me at jdefrees@kc.rr.com Thanks

The last know patriarch of the family was William Williamson of Kilinamoch, Ayrshire, Scotland. He fought for the British and died in 1815 in Brussels at the Battle of Waterloo. He was probably born sometime between 1780 and 1790, maybe alittle earlier. He was married and had 2 sons and 1 daughter:
1) William 2) Andrew and 3) Catherine
They were probably born around late 1700's to early 1800's. His wife's name is unknown.

There is no record of what happened to 3)Catherine.

1)William and 2)Andrew immigrated to America together(probably to Albany,New York) in the early 1800's.

2) Andrew married (wife's name is unknown) and had 2 sons. It is possible they were married in Scotland and his sons were born there and immigrated with him. Andrew's sons were:
2a)James and 2b) William.
2a)James married a woman named Belle Wilson but had no children. He was killed in the Civil War leading his Regiment the 177th N.Y. Volunteers at the Battle of Port Hudson, Lousiana.
2b) William married and had 2 daughters (wife's name and daughter's names are unknown). William died in Johnstown, Massachusetts
2) Andrew died in Albany, New York at the close of the Civil War.

1) William married twice and had a large family. His first wife was Mary Alison from Port Glasgow, Ayrshire, Scotland. They might have married in Scotland and immigrated together. They had 10 children however the names of only 7 are know. I am assuming 3 died at birth or early infancy. The children of William and Mary Alison Williamson were:

1a) Agnes: she married a civil engineer (name unknown) and had no children.

1b) William: b. 1821 he married Marion Warden and had 7 children:
1b-1) Mary: married a William? Morse and had 2 children Jesse and Phillip. Mr. Morse was very wealthy and inherited all the land that Norwood, Mass. stood on.
1b-2) William: married the Postmaster's daughter of Norwood, Mass. (no info. on children)
1b-3) Marion: Never married and died at age 15
1b-4) Margaret: married a Richard Mitchell and had children (no other info.)
1b-5) Jessie: died at age 8
1b-6) Robert: married Miss Metcalf, a banker's daughter. They lived in Brooklyn and had children but no other info.
1b-7) Andrew: died at age 19

1c) James: married Kity Gollnock. They had i daughter, Margaret who died.

1d) Mary: married Andrew McCansland? and had a large family but no other info.

1e) Elizabeth: married an Army Officer and they lived in India. No other family info.

1f) Isabella: 1st husband drowned at sea, name unknown. 2nd husband John Wilson. He died in New York in either 1865 or at age 65 (unable to clearly read the note)

1g) Andrew Jackson: b. 1837 married Barbara Kyger in Fulton, Missouri. They had 4 children:
1g-1) Morgan: died in infancy
1g-2) William James married a Jessie Wanner? they had 3 daughters: Augusta, Ruth & Eugenia. William James became a prominenet preacher in St. Louis, Mo.
1g-3) Louis Kyger: married Merle Bryan of Fulton, Mo. and had 3 sons: William, Walter Gregory and Andrew Bryan.
1g-4) Lula: died at age 2 or 3
Andrew Jackson Williamson became a successful merchant in Fulton Missouri and died in Lynn Haven, Fla. on Feb. 12, 1916. He was survived only by his brother William who was living in Boston, Mass. at the time.

1) William Williamson's second wife was Sarah McClune. They had 4 children:

1h) Sarah: married a Coleman Crowley of N. Y., N. Y. They had 3 children. Only one name, Catherine is known. Sarah died in Brooklyn, N.Y.

1i) Catherine: Never married. She was engaged to marry a Rev. Ott, a Presbyterian preacher. Cahterine died just before the wedding in Albany, N.Y.

1j) Samuel: married the daughter of a Presbyterian preacher. They had 1 daughter.

1k) Joseph died at age 14.

Again, this is all the information I have. If you have any connection and/or information please feel free to contact me.
