I had just written a long explanation to you of how I feel this WILLIAMS line desecends. Lost it! Basically, I feel that there were two John Williams, one the father, the other the son. The first married Ann Moore and their children include the Lewis and then grandson named Anthony. The second married Whitley and their son John was the one that had a son named James who married the Chritian Bryan, which you named. Earlier John/m. Moore was born ca 1610 in Wales. Later, his son John/m. Whitley was born ca 1650. THEN, there is the third John b. 1669 who married Jones or Page or Pope, who was the father of the Theophilus, who married Busby. I had two possible marriage on Theophilus, as I thought he might have married her sister Hester Bryan. No idea if this was the case, or just a given name mix-up. There is another James, from this last John's grandchildren. He was James, the son of Theophilus. Some link the Bryan marriage to this James as well. I think it's actually an earlier marriage, because of the marriage dates. I have that Elizabeth Bryan also married someone with surname KING. James died in 1736 and she didn't die until 1740... so she may have married KING, after James had died. I have no children by the KING marriage. However, the KING marriage may be our only way of determining WHICH James she married. if we research the KING marriage and see when it was... I have that she was born 1708 and the first James was born about 1705. While the second James, son of Theophilus was not born until ca1724. So common sense, would suggest that she married the earlier James Williams, son of John, NOT son of Theophilus. Also, of interest... some of the Roots Web DNA WILLIAMS GROUP 9 participants link to the earlier John mentioned above, while the majority link to the latter John Williams. At this point about 5 people in this group link to the latter John Williams, while a few others seem to hark back to the earlier John Williams and that line seems to come through South Carolina, and thence into GA and AL and MS. All for the moment...no more time. THANKs. Gerri Notify Administrator about this message?
