Oh My Gosh Ken! ALL this family stuff is so confusing! I told my husband I'm so confused I don't know whether to scratch my watch or wind my butt. And the more I learn the worse it is! And now he's telling me I'm a junkie. I've been on the computer since I started all this! haha... it's addictive and I really don't have a clue of what I'm doing or how to do 'real research' I have a million questions.... I really admire all those who are willing to help with the brickwalls. That's just crazy! THANK YOU! Bravo... you folks are my HERO! Thank you for the DNA infomation. I will do as you suggest and get that done. Just a LONG FYI... cause you never know whatcha might come across. Please, does anyone have any information on this family? I am SO confused! In 1920 Panola-Precinct 8-District 166-Image 6, Mary Thomas(46) was widowed and head-of-household. Enumerated as her children were: Robert J.(17), Essie L.(15), Elbert W.(12), and Lucile(8). Backup to 1910 Panola-Precinct 8-Dist 130-Image 22 to find James Thomas(41), Mary(35), Minnie(10), Jack(7), Essie(5), and Elbert(2). Mary was enumerated as the mother of six with only two living. I think only Minnie was her birth child? Go to 1900 Panola-Precinct 7-District 72-Image 40 to find Jas Thomas(31), Mary(23), Augusta(5), and Minnie(6/12). It appears James Thomas died prior to 1920 but he had a long history in Texas. In 1880, find him with uncle James H. Thomas(63), of North Carolina, in Panola-Precinct 7-District 66-Images 4 and 5. The uncle was married to Caroline Applegate of Louisiana and was in Texas as early as 1850 Shelby County There is a Texas Marriage Certificate for George W. PARISH and Elizabeth BLAKE on 15 Oct 1855 in Panola County. They were the parents identified on Mary B. THOMAS' (2 Feb 1861 - 8 Oct 1836) death certificate. I am actually looking for the history of Mary B. THOMAS- mother of Nannie Lucille Thomas B: 10 Aug 1910. D: 12 June 1989 in Corsicana, Navarro County, TX (Lucille is my grandmother. I am new to this research and the more I learn the more confused I am! Please let me know if I can answer questions regarding the siblings and childen of Lucille. Thank you so very very much.
