Surnames: WILLIAMS, SMITH, MADDOX, JENNINGS, SHORES, DUKE, LANCASTER
You didn't ask for any help but I thought other Williams’s researchers might be interested in the following information about this family.
From the book, "Marriages of Wilson Co. TN, 1802-1850", by Edythe Rucker Whitley
(note - the spelling of names is as it appears in this book)
1. Thos. Williams married Elizabeth Williams April 1, 1815 with Thomas Williams as bondsman
2. William Gray Williams was married to Mary SMITH May 30, 1835 by Rev. Micajah Estes with William R. Williams as bondsman.
3. Piety Williams married Elijah L. MADDOX Dec 23, 1837 with Benjamin Maddox as bondsman
(NOTE - Elijah Maddox was the minister of Barton's Creek Baptist Church in 1849)
4. Hiram Williams married Martha JENNINGS May 1, 1837 with E. C. Jennings as bondsman
5. Thomas William was the bondsman for the marriage of James JENNINGS and Rachel SHORES May 16, 1839, performed by Rev. Joshua Lester
6. Hiram Williams married Eliza Ann DUKE April 10, 1848
From the book, “Index to Wilson Co. TN Wills and Administrations, 1802-1861”
A Samuel Williams, Sr. had records in Probate in 1844 and 1845
A copy of this Will can be ordered from the Wilson Co. Archives in Lebanon.
Could this Samuel Williams be the
Samuel Williams who married Celia LANCASTER Aug 28, 1781 in WARREN Co., NC, with John LANCASTER as bondsman?????
