He was born abt. 1750
Court Docs mention Giles Williams as brother to Joseph Williams who resided in Rutherford County, North Carolina
He married Sarah Musick 1 July 1777
Sarah Williams made Pension Application from Cole Co. Missouri
Also mentioned as Affiants are Benjamin Lisle; Lewis Musick and Thomas R. Musick, a Clergyman and Rev War Pensioner himself. Gives no relationship to Sarah.
Sarah Williams’ maiden name was Sarah Musick; she was born about 1756 in Albemarle County, Va.
Joseph Williams was born about 1750, probably in Virginia; that he moved about 1775 to Tryon (now Rutherford) County, NC.
Joseph & Sarah moved from Rutherford County, NC to Illinois in 1794. The
following year to Saint Louis County, Missouri. Joseph Williams died in Saint Louis Mo. 5 Jan 1820. Sarah Williams died in May, 1849.
