Don, thanks for your reply. No DOB for John. Infact after about 8 years of research I really have nothing but his name. Will Arnold Creek was in Murray county GA. Murray county at one time was part of Cherokee county, northen part of GA. The 1835 rolls and what is in my gg-grandmother's application is the only records I find him on. Two men testified for my gg-grandmother on her application and said they knew John Williams back in the old Cherokee nation. Can't find what I think might be him on any other documents, no census, other Cherokee rolls, just nothing. Nine million John Williams out there so who knows ??
