WILLIAM "Billy" WELCH was born Abt. 1778-1780 in North Carolina, and died 1860-1870 near Hammond, Ozark County, Missouri; son of WALTER WELCH. He married Martha _____ (surname unknown).


1. JAMES WELCH, born Abt.1800-1803 in TN. He married SARAH SMITH in March 1829 in Putnam County, Indiana. Source: Census 1850 Putnam County, Indiana.

2. JANE WELCH, born 8 July 1803 in TN; died 8 Nov 1892 near Seymour, Webster County, MO. She married AMOS SMITH on 23 Aug 1827 in Putnam County, IN; son of John SMITH. Both are buried at the Seymour Cemetery.

3. Matilda WELCH born Abt. 1804-1810 in TN. She m. Pleasant McCULLOUGH, son of Alexander McCULLOUGH and Martha "Patsy" MARTIN.

4. BARTEMA WELCH, born Abt. 1810-1815 in TN; died 1860-1870, near Hammond, Ozark County. MO. Burial at Stone Cemetery. She married JESSE EVANS (EVENS) on 8 July 1837 in Jackson Twp., Putnam County,IN. Jesse born 22 July 1815 NC; died 14 Nov 1897 Cle Elum, Kittitas County, WA. Burial at Swauk Prairie Cemetery.

5. ISOM WELCH, born Abt. 1815-1818 in TN. He married BELINDA RODGERS on 7 Aug 1836 in Putnam County, IN.

6. AMOS WELCH born Abt. 1818-1820 in TN, died Abt. 1862.

7. ISRAEL WELCH, born Abt. 1820-1822 in TN. He married ISABELLA L. WHITE on 31 Jan 1841 in Putnam County, IN.

8. MARTIN LUTHER WELCH, b. 28 Nov 1824 in IN; died 8 Aug 1878 Collinsville, Grayson County, TX. He married MARTHA L. WHITE on 29 Jul 1849.
