A.H Williford aka "Almon Williford" of Tennessee

Im looking for information on my ancestor Almon "A.H" Williford. He lived in Maury Co, Tennessee in the 1830's. He was listed as a "person of color", but was married to a white woman Nancy Smith.

Almon was also fairly wealthy, as he bought a slave named "Luke" from his father-in-law, Thomas Smith for $680. Any information about Almon you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you could give me some research tips that would be appreciated as well.
