I am trying to find out what happened to my 2nd great-grandfather and some of his children. His name was John Mosbarger B: 12 Mar. 1858 in Adair Co., Missouri D: 28 Mar. 1888 in Stanton Co., Nebraska. He married Elizabeth Willey in Dec. of 1878. She was B: 14 July 1859 in Nobel Co., Oh. D: 25 April 1931 in Atlantic, Cass Co., Iowa. Their son John Solomon Masberger was my 1st. great-grandfather, but he never talked about the deaths of his father or sibblings. Does anyone now the names of the rest of the children of John and Elizabeth (Willey) Mosbarger and what happened to John and some of his children? They were my mothers family on her mothers side. On her fathers side was 7 family members who died on the same day. I thought that maybe it was an illness , but it turned out that they were killed by Indians, scalped and burned. the deaths of John and his children has been a mystery, and I didn't get any answer from the Stanton Historical Society when I contacted them.
