SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Charlotte Wilkinson, 82, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Bass. Interment will follow in the N.W. LA. Veteran Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the funeral home.
Charlotte was born on May 20, 1927 to Georg Istel and Selma Vogt Istel. She passed away on October 9, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Charlotte emigrated to the U.S. in 1956 from Germany, starting a new life with her husband, Joe. She was a homemaker and loved music. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Wilkinson; daughter, Donna T. Bullock; grandson, Craig K. Wilkinson; brother, Alfred Istel. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jeff Wilkinson and wife, Jennifer; sister, Margot Ziegler; 3 grandchildren and wonderful extended family members and friends.
