I am looking for information on J.R. Wilkinson.
J.R. Wilkinson was the father of the present Essex & Kent Scottish regiment. It was he that was the first commanding officer of the 21st Essex Fusiliers that became the Essex
Scottish after WW I, and then the Essex & Kent Scottish after WW II.
He was from Leamington, Ontario and was involved in the militia from a very young age, serving in the Fenian Raids. Before forming the 21st Essex Fusiliers, he was Commanding Officer of the Leamington Infantry Company.
I am trying to find decendants of his family line. The 21st Essex Fusiliers regiment had several companies and my great grandfather C.E. Naylor is shown in the original muster rolls as a medical sergeant.
