Wilene:
I have read with interest your story of the five sons of Moses Wilkinson. I have just started to try and expand our research of my wife's wilkinson line. Her father Herbert Wilkinson was a life long genealogist. He died 14 years ago and left us his file cabinet full of genealogy. I have put it on my computer, at least the Wilkinson part. He has fairly complete records back through Moses Wilkinson b. 23 Mar 1771, Cincinnati, Hamilton, OH, d.19 Oct 1833, Covington, Fountain, IN. Herbert was a descendant of Moses through Lewis b. 23 May 1817 then Amos b. 13 Jun 1854 then Frank b. 16 Jul 1878 to himself b. 9 Jan 1913. There are a couple of differences between what he has and what you have. You may have information that he did not have, and you may be correct. He has Moses married to Francis Martin b. 13 Dec 1776 d. 30 Nov 1852 ,Fountain, IN.(rather than Farnsworth) He also has a second daughter for Moses and Francis, Mary b. 6 May 1810. Herb has Moses' father as Samuel b. abt 1750 M. abt 1770 to Jane Sydney b. abt 1752 with no places of births or marriage with the only child listed as Moses. He has Samuel's parents as David Wilkinson and Susan Reisin b. abt 1729 and 1731 respectively. He has the name of Moses' son Reason (your spelling) as Reisin spelled as per his ggrandmother's name. That is as far as he goes with the line. I would be interested in what additional information you have on the family and what Documentation you have as well. I will have to search his files and see if he has any documentation listed in the files that I did not copy into my computer. I am not sure where he got all of this information, probably from family records, but I do not have his original family files. They reside currently with my sister in law. I will see what she has as well. There may be some documentation in his file cabinet, I'll check it out. You indicate that yiu had some difficulty with Francis' maiden name until you found the correct maiden name. What convinced you and what was wrong with the name of Martin, if that is what you had to start with? I am anxious to hear from you.
