Godfrey Wilkin is my ancestor also. His daughter, Elizabeth born 1759, married John Haas 5 Oct. 1784. There is a nice bit on Godfrey Wilkin and family in HISTORY OF THE DESCENDANTS OF JOHN HOTTEL pp. 1083-1087. Do you have access to this book?? If not, I will get that data to you. I have not found the wife of Godfrey Sr. Land was granted to Godfrey and George Wilkin in Richmond VA 11 Ssept. 1756. It states that Godfrey, born early in 1700,
came from Switzerland before 1750. He had 7 children, 1 Mathias lived in Lost River WV....2 Elizabeth married to my John Haas moved to OH about 1812..3 Henry moved to OH... 4 Philip ( your line) to Ohio..also Highland Co. 5 Godfrey Jr. stayed in VA near Woodstock..Married Catherine Layman 1786..This may be a sister to your Ann Layman..6 John moved to OH near Newark...7 George lived in Lost River WV. I was born near Newark as was my mother, grandfather Haas and his Haas ancestors back to John and Elizabeth who came to Ohio from Shen. Co. VA. I hope that this is of some help to your search.
