I'm research an Alexander Wilkey/Wilkie born c1750 probably in NJ, PA or VA (USA). In Monmouth County, New Jersey I found an online family tree for an Alexander (or Andrew) Wilkie born 1706 Scotland (son of James Wilkie 1680 Banf Scotland and Isabel Peterkin). Alexander is listed as a father of William Wilkie born 1734 NJ who then had a son George who moved to NC.

In Monmouth NJ church records I later found a George Wilkie who in 1751 had 3 children baptized named Deborah, George and Sarah. Also, a Mary Wilkie wife of George Newman had a son Thomas baptized in that county in 1754. This suggests a George and Mary were children of Alexander/Andrew plus that William.

I speculate that our Alexander born 1750 connects to this line. Does this connect with your George Wilkie line or is that a coincidence?
