From a researcher in Germany: Carl's parents were Johann Christian Wilke born 1800 in Priborn, Mechlenburg, Germany, and Eleonora Christina Karsten born 1800 in Priborn. Carl's full name was Carl Johann Friedrich Wilke born Priborn and baptized Dec. 14, 1828 in Stuer. The birthdate the researcher found was Dec. 8, 1828 and she sent birth/baptism record. His tombstone says 1826. Sophia Reppenhagen was born June 9, 1837 as Sophia Philipina Elsabeth Ziemann as an illegitimate child to Anna Ziemann. Father was said to be Johann Adam Friedrich Schult, but he denied it. We presume she was later adopted by John Reppenhagen, or at least took his name. She and Carl married April 4, 1856.
