2. i. Abner P, born 1790 at Bedford Co., Virginia; married Peggy Moore Young.
Generation Two
2. Abner P. Wilks (John); Abner was born at Bedford Co., Virginia, 1790; he married Peggy Moore Young at Lawrence County, Missouri, 17 Sep 1857; Abner died.
Peggy Moore Young. Peggy was born at Springfield, Clark County, Ohio, on 7 Sep 1831. Peggy died.
Children of Abner P. Wilks and Peggy Moore Young were:
3. i. Samuel Price, born 24 Dec 1863 at Missouri; married Leah Josephine Jones.
Generation Three
3. Samuel Price Wilks (Abner, John); Samuel was born, son of Abner P. Wilks and Peggy Moore Young, at Missouri 24 Dec 1863; he married Leah Josephine Jones at Denton County, Texas, 30 Dec 1888. Cemetery marker gives date of marriage as : 23 December 1888; Samuel died 14 Nov 1940 at home, Denton, Denton County, Texas, at age 76.
Children of Samuel Price Wilks and Leah Josephine Jones were as follows:
i. Pearl Mae; Pearl was born at Moore, Cleveland County, Oklahoma, 16 Jan 1890; she married James Samuel Hicks circa 1908; Pearl died Aug 1972 at Vernon, Wilbarger County, Texas, at age 82.
On the 1930 Census, Pearl Mae Wilks was listed as the wife of James Samuel Hicks at Lamb County, Texas, on 15 Apr 1930.
ii. Ben Abner; born circa 1895 at Texas; he married S.Beatrice Roland; he married Martha Vossler; Ben died at Cheyenne, Wyoming.
His long name was Abner Burl (Ben) Wilks. Ben was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He lived in 1940 at Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa, The information for Ben's location in 1940 was taken from the obituary of his father, Samuel P. Wilks.
iii. Jessie Faye; born 13 Mar 1904; she married Buck Collins before 1930; she married Grady Hillman Russell before 1938;
Jessie Faye Wilks died 27 Apr 2002 at Stephenville, Erath County, Texas, at age 98.
iv. Elbert Ervin; Elbert was born at Clovis, Curry County, New Mexico, 12 Jan 1906; he married Virginia Lafon Kidd before 1928; Elbert was divorced from Virginia Lafon Kidd Apr 1932; he married Dorothy (--?--) after 1933; Elbert died 14 Mar 1992 at Needles, San Bernadino County, California, at age 86.
Elbert was, according to the 1930 census taken as of April 1, employed as a Fireman for the railroad at Amarillo, Potter County, Texas.
