D. Wesley WILKERSON, passed away of a backset of the measles, in Barry County, Missouri, after he rode a horse to see how his sick father-in-law, William J. DAVIDSON was doing, who had pneumonia. They both died slightly more than a month apart.They are both buried in the Vineyard Cemetery, near Exeter, Barry County, Missouri. D. Wesley was the son of Fredric M. WILKERSON. Fredric was the son of Drury S. WILKERSON, Jr. Drury, Jr. (His headstone says Sr)is also buried at the Vineyard Cemetery, along with his2nd. wife, Nancy (Murray) WILKERSON. Drury WILKERSON, Jr. was married twice in Adair County, Kentucky. He was married as JR. in Adair County. He lived in Adair, Russell County, also. He was the son of the Revolutionary soldier, Drury WILKERSON, Sr. who was married to Mary A. Rice in Prince Edward County, Virginia. You will find Drury WILKERSON as a bondsman for a marriage in Bedford County, Virginia abt. 1796.
Cora Stella WILKERSON, daughter of D. Wesley WILKERSON is my Grandmother. She was born June 11, 1888, Barry County, Missouri, she passed away May 1, 1967, Wichita, Sedgewick County, Kansas, buried at Concord Cemetery, Barry County, Missouri. She was married at age 17, to Gentry H. GERMAN, age 17,(note not on License--son of Sylvester GERMAN and Alice E. WHITE). Gentry and Cora Stella were from ElPaso, Barry County, Missouri. They were married at the office of J. C. Stamps, J. P. , March 11, 1906.Wm. O. WEAR, Guardian of Gentry GERMAN and Sarah POWELL, mother of Cora WILKERSON give their consent to said marriage.
