Hello,
I am interested in your Wilmoth Wilkerson. While I don't exact information on the Wilmoth you mentioned, I do have a Wilmoth Wilkinson in the family. My 5th great grandfather Benjamin Wilkinson b. 1740s in VA had a sister named Wilmoth Wilkinson who married a Nathaniel Waddle. The Wilkinson family (so far) has been tracked to Amelia County VA.Some of the family moved stayed in VA (Chesterfield and Pittsylvania County), others moved to NC.Benjamin moved to Rutherford County NC, and I believe some of his relatives may have moved to Granville County NC.Benjamin had a brother named Stephen, one named John, and probably Thomas. Known descendants of Benjamin lived in these areas:
Franklin County TN, Grundy County TN, Livingston County KY, Gallatin County IL, Macoupin County IL, St. Clair County IL, Pulaski County MO, Barry County MO, Lawrence County AR, Collin County TX, Grayson County TX, Stephens County OK.
I don't know if this will help you or not, but I thought since the name Wilmoth seems to be unusual there could be a connection.
Melody
PS I will check my notes, but the name Cozart sounds familiar.I think there were a lot in Rutherford County NC.
