The Wilk surname appears in original records in Poland and translates to "Wolf". The Wilk family I am researching immigrated from near Warsaw in Poland to Pittsburgh, PA. After arrival in the U.S. they went by Wolf and also Wilczynski. They used the latter name to be more like their Polish neighbors here in the U.S.
