In Reply to: James Wilhelms-Meigs Co., TN. by Allen Vaughn of 1112

James Andrew Wilhelm, Jr. b. 24 Jul. 1821 Decatur, Rhea Co., Tenn. Farmer. Apparantely while alive, James gave 160 acres of land to 4 children. This was at No Pone, Meigs Co., TN. The children were Andrew, Elizabeth, Sarah & Elijah.

James died 1 Apr. 1887. It seems his Bible says 1885 for year of death. Buried in the Pisgah cemetery near Decatur, meigs, Co., TN.

Abigail Atchley James wife was born 27 Dec. 1816 in Kentucky, daughter of Joseph & Elizabeh Atchley. Married James Andrew Wilhelm, Jr. 25 Jan. 1843 in Meigs Co, TN. Thomas V. Atchley was Surety & Nathan Qualls bondsman.

Etc. I reference old letters written during 1840's.

Abigail's first child, a son was born 3 Jul. 1843 and
died 12 Jul. 1843. Name not given.

Abigail's second child, Sarah Elizabth Wilhelm was born
12 Oct. 1844. Married Perry Howard. Sarah & Perry had at least one child before Perry was killed during the Civil War. Sarah lived with her parents and is listed in the 1870 Meigs Co., TN Census as Mr. Vaughn indicates above. Sarah (Wilhelm) Perry died 29 Jan. 1872

Nancy Howard b. about 1872. Married a Powers. Had 5 children. Names known of only two.
A. James Powers
B. Annie Powers.

Sarah (Wilhelm) Howard and daughter Nancy (Howard) Powers information was given to me by Ruth W. Davison 9 Oct. 1982 in Ruth's home south of Los Angeles CA. Ruth has been dead several years now. Ruth also gave me a bit of information about Nancy's two children she knew about.

James Powers, son of Nancy Powers Married Addalou Webb. They went to Kans. or Oklahoma. James wife died. He went out to the cow stall one night. Next morning he was found dead in the stall.

Annie Powers, daughter of Nancy Powers, married a Campbell. Very old address was: Box 11, Thomas OK 73669

Mr. Vaughn, I have your given email address on message 674. My email addres is <> if you are interested in my research.
