I have Wilfords from Naseby, NTH as well. Hannah Wiilford had an illegitimate son John Norton Wilford, born in 1811 in Naseby. I believe she was the daughter of Charles Wilford and Mary Hains, and had a number of siblings: James, Joseph, Thomas, David, and Benjamin, all baptized in 1812. I believe Charles was born about 1770, son of John Wilford and Mary Perkins, married in 1764. Before then, the line goes cold. Parish registers are often not very reliable indicators of family connections, especially when there are several people with the same names. It is really hard to be sure of the parents of a couple whose marriage entry just gives their names, and witnesses that may not be related. My Wilford families for this period are a bit speculative. I would certainly like to know more details about the Naseby Wilfords, on the assumption they are all somehow related. Pierce Reid Toronto Notify Administrator about this message?
