Hi Tom,
Thank you for your reply, I have found the same information and have wondered why the change from Wilcoxson to Wilcox and why the move to NJ. I'd guessed that the move was either because of a woman or a land grant of some sort and the "son" was dropped for convenience.
I've been trying to find family members in the Somerville,NJ area that I met as a child. Once my Grandparents became elderly and my Grandfather's siblings died, all extended family contact ended.
My Grandfather had a Brother who lived in Waterbury,CT. I don't know what happened to that branch of the family.
Have you seen any portraits of our ancestors? I'd love to see what physical traits may have stayed through the generations.
