I have never heard anyone question Abner's parentage and have never known the source for placing him as a son of Joseph and Content Wolcott. Do you have any idea, Bertha, why Robert Griffin placed him as their child? Joseph and Content were married in Jan. 1749 and their son Abel was born Sept. 1750, and that dosn't leave much room for Abner. And it's odd that Abner didn't use any names from Joseph's family for his children.
