Sarah,

The WILBY line in Melbourne is actually represented by the GORDONs (descendants through the female line)who came from Portugal. The Porto WILBYs go straight back to William WILBY from Hartshead in Yorkshire, a noted British merchant. In turn, the great majority of the Canadian WILBYs from this line are all located in British Columbia, namely Vancouver and Victoria and they, too, are directly descended from William WILBY. The Porto and Melbourne line come down from WW's daughter from his second marriage and the Canadian line, from his only son, Henry Edward, born of his first wife.
If you could email me directly, I will put you in touch with the WILBY researcher in Melbourne and she may be able to help you much better than I can as she knows much more about the Australian side of the family.
Magdalena
