Having just read your query I spoke to my mother (nee Elsie Wilby b 1904) who gave me the following information:
Her grandparents were Joseph Wilby(1837-1910) m Sarah Shoesmith(1842-1914). He was a gamekeeper at Heath Hall and according to the marriage certificate she was a Romany. They lived in Warmfield? Cottage, Warmfield and had the following children George,Clifford (who lived in the same cottage after he married), Elsie,Olive,Liza,Effie,Charlie, Joe and Elizabeth but no John I'm afraid. However Warmfield isn't all that big so I assume that John could be a cousin to these children of whom George was my grandfather. Hope you find this of interest even though it does not directly answer your query.
Cheers
Dave Worgan
