Hi Joyce, Glad to have you join in the Wilbur/Wilbor etc Message's. Thanks for the tip about the Wilbor House, I did visit on Line and sent a message to my sister and her husband who live in R.I. he's a Professor in R.I. University. I want to make a comment on your later message pertaining to A book written by Asa Wilbur about Samuel Wilbur, allow me to digress here and tell of a woman from down South who several years ago told me in my searching to use all the spellings of Wilbur, which I've done and have been successful. However I have found for the most part it(the spelling) has gone along with the years WILDBORE,WILDBOUR, back to WILBORE, WILBOR which I found to be used the most now in recent years Wilbur and here and there not to often Wilber. I found ther are quite a few books written on the Wilbor's( Higginson Book Co Salem Mass.) Now back to your message about Samuel Wilbur and according to Asa all Wilbur' are from this Samuel this statement is really reaching far out. Let me explain first he is only going back to the 1600's or at the most late 1580/1590 If one takes any Samuel he'll have to go back to Joseph or a Nicholas then to another Nicholas then to A Thomas, and they all had children, In one of my earlier messages on this board my Line goes back to a Thomas Wilbore b.1482 in Royston, West Riding Yorkshire England and he d. 1564 Colchester Essex England. Off course I don't know what the rest of his book contains, but to say that all come from Samuel that's really a little too much. Again thank you for your imput....Ken Tuttle
