I am seeking information about my g-grandfather, William W. Wilbourn/Wilbourne. He was born abt 1820 in GA. In migrated to Cooke County TX and married Rosella/Rozella STRONG from OH abt 1853. They had 4 sons, William Marshall, John W., Hiram S., and Cyrus F., and 1 daughter, Johanna/Joanna/Josie. The boys were all born in TX, but Johanna was born in AR.

I have been able to trace William W. from 1850 to 1868 in Gainesville, Cooke Co TX. Apparently William W. Wilbourn died between 1868 and 1870 because Rosella is listed in the 1870 census with only the children and her widowed mother. There is no mention of a husband. There is a family story that he was shot while riding outside of town in 1869 but I have not been able to find any documentation on it. I also have not located a grave or death record for him.

I suspect that William W. Wilbourn may be related to the Red River Wilbourns, who are also from GA, but have not found a connection as yet. If anyone has any information to share I would truly appreciate it.
Thanks, Carol Wilburn Buck
