WILBUR/ER's in Maine 1700-1800's
Posted by: Jayson D. Wilbur Date: February 17, 2001 at 12:17:37
  of 486

Does anyone recognize any of these WILBUR/ER's? Both families are from Franklin County Maine and I'm looking for more information on any of them particularly on siblings/ancestors of Thomas (b. 1763).

I've listed them below as WILBUR's, but I've found many listed as WILBER's depeding on the source.

Thomas WILBUR b. 25 Oct 1763 married
(1) Deborough b. 24 Aug 1770
(2) Dorcas FRIZZLE (married Mar 1831)

Children of Thomas WILBUR and Deborough:
1 -- Reuben b. 30 Mar 1788
2 -- Elezebeth b. 20 Aug 1789
3 -- Henry b. 30 Jul 1792 *
4 -- Keziah b. 30 Jan 1794 and/or 12 Oct 1796
5 -- Mary b. 30 Mar 1798
6 -- b. 29 Jul 1799
7 -- Thomas b. 17 Jan 1801
8 -- Amos b. 10 Dec 1814

Children of Henry WILBUR (* from above) and Elizabeth WELLS:
1 -- Henry b. 23 Jun 1818
2 -- Nathaniel b. Aug 1823 or 22 Aug 1822
3 -- William
4 -- Thomas b. 1822 according to grave
5 -- Harris b. 25 Oct 1829
6 -- Daniel b. 1829 according to grave
7 -- Charles b. 1 Jul 1831
8 -- Elizabeth b. 21 May 1833

Thomas (b. 1763) and Henry (b. 1792) are buried in Maine as Rev. Thomas
WILBER and Rev. Henry WILBUR respectively.

I'm a descendent of Harris WILBUR.

Many of these births are listed at familysearch.org as being in Phillips (or Madrid), Maine, but for Thomas and Deborough that may just be where the LDS found the records. Perhaps there is a connection to the Wilbur's of Rhode Island, but I can't find it.

Thanks for any help.

Jayson Wilbur
