Looking for information on the following:
Joseph Wigton born in Northern
Ireland in 1779 and came to America in 1796 at the age of 17. Lived for a
time with his sister Mrs. James Downey of Rushville, Fairfield County,
Ohio, then lived in Fairfield, Muskingum, and Perry Counties, Ohio. He
married Sarah Porter. His father was William Wigton who married Martha
Wallace. It is believed the family came from southern Scotland to Northern
Ireland. There was a William Wigton or Wigdon of Franklin County, Ohio, who
was a brother of Joseph Wigton, and who settled there at an early date. Fritz Milligan
