Michael,

I am currently designing a web site with all my family history back to 1699. (Not yet online only started two days ago)

I realise it is some time ago when you posted your question.

My grandfather has traced a John Wignall of Tarleton who married jennet Rimmer of Preston at Croston on Nov 20th 1699.

John wignall is my gr gr gr gr gr gr gr gr grandfather - maybe he had a brother or cousin named jeffrie?

does this help at all?

D Wignall (Preston Lancashire)
