I stumbled across the name of Ancil/Ansel/Ancel Wigington by starting with Robert Wigington who was born in Georgia, 1842. In 1920, he was in Harrison Co., Texas with wife, Alma, and eight children, Leila, Henry, Charlotte, Newton, Eddy, Bessie, Odell and Floyd. The 1860 census of Pickens co., Ga, on page 996, showed Ancil Wigington, 45 S.C., with wife, Rachel, 38, S.C. and children: Robert 18, Elizabeth 16, Joseph 13, Margaret 10, Mary 4 and Walter 2 years old. Robert, age 18, is possibly the Robert that I am following.
The 1820 census of South Carolina showed two George Wiggington/Wiggenton's in Pendleton county that had sons less than ten years old, so one of them might have been Ancel/Ancil/Ansel's father. I began this search from Robert Wigington's grandson, Robert R. Brown, born about 1912 in Oklahoma. Any help would be appreciated.
