Michael,
I really appreciate your help in the information you've given me in your post about Deborah Wightman Record.I must admit, however, I have tried evrything I know to do to find out how Deborah could be John Wightman's aunt, and I just can't find out how.Perhaps she was his great aunt, that would fit more with the age difference between them, but if that is the case, I can't figure out who the relation would be.I had thought that my ggg-grandfather, John Wightnman, might have been the son of John Wightman and Sarah Casey. but they were married after he was born, so that won't work.I had thought that because John Wightman(b. 1775) had a son called Casey, and I thought it could have been a family name.I have looked for Wightmans in Dutchess county, and apart from my own John, who shows up in the 1810 census, I find none at all.If you can shed any light on this problem,I would be beholden to you.Regards, Geof Acker
