Ellen, I have come across a Robey Wightman, daughter of
George Wightman, born about 1710, married Mary Ralph, born
about 1712, on 4 January 1737.He died between 13 and 28 July in Warwick, Kent Co., RI.The daughter, Robey, was born about 1756, married Joseph Straight, a widower and son of Joseph and Mary (Card) Straight.18 July 1779.
You might be interest in a portion of her father's Will that reads. "To my daughter, Robey Wightman 2 fether beds and furniture and the one half a fether bed to be equally divided between my daughter Robey and her sister Patience Arnold.""I do also give to my daughter, Robey Wightman,
my milch cow and all my moveable estate, wheresoever the same my be, to her and her assigns forever, and my will is that my daughter Robey Wightman shall be my whole and sole Executrix, to execute this my last Will and Testament."
"In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written."This date was 13 July 1774.
I hope this is of some help.
Bill
