George then m. in 1820 Diana Johnson Oyler (b. 1801 in Robertson Co., Tenn.; dau. of Jonathan Melcher Oyler and Rachel Johnson). They had George in 1820 and Sarah in 1832, both in S.C.; then 8 more children in Newton Co., Miss. between 1833 and 1849.
