Dan, Thanks for the reply to my genealogy post. You may be on to something. It will take some more research, but it is something to go on. My father which was also born in 1928 lives with me. He said he was always told that his grandfather was full blooded Cherokee and his father was a Cherokee Chief. I have learned also that when the Indian men married, that they took the wife's last name. My grandfather and father and a brother are very tall, have high cheek bones and black straigh hair when younger. My sister and daughter are shorter, have dark skin and long straigh dark hair. My father also mentioned that his father was in, I think the Spanish-American War and that he was on a ship and before the ship could make it to Cuba it hit a typhone and was lost at sea for some time. When the ship did make it back to the US the war was over. My father said his father said they lived in OK and that he had one brother and one sister. He also said they owned land there too. My grandfather left OK at the age of 27 and came to Tennessee. Well the search continues. Dottie
