Hi Judy, I don't know if your William WIGGINS born 1847 was in the civil war, maybe he joined up in say 1863 or 1864,he'd be 16 or 17. I checked the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors index site and found 3 WIGGINS, William. (None in California...thought he may have served there, then came back in 1873) MISSOURI- One is WIGGINS, William Union Infantry 27th Regiment Missouri Infantry Second, WIGGINS, William confederate Infantry 3rd Battalion missouri Infantry, and third is WIGGINS, William Confederate Infantry 6th Regiment Missouri Infantry. Don't know if you have used the National Archives for Civil War Records.Haven't sent for WIGGINS yet but have for 2 other lines, and one record spans from 1864 to 1912,when gr grandmother claimed her widows pension and then when she passed away, shows its stopping. Want to tie in my WIGGINs with the North Carolina/Tennessee also.My WIGGINS grandfather had coal black hair and black eyes. Notify Administrator about this message?
